Dear Rock Angel
New adult contemporary romance (not spicy) set in London and inspired by my own wild rock era.

Hello everyone and welcome to another post. If you are new here my name is Annaliese and I bring magic into real life. Today I have another fictional piece from The Tabatha Tribune… the story starts with a post entitled Witch School read here and follow along. If you enjoy any of my work please subscribe to my newsletter and be sure to check out my books and the Moon Telegrams.
Ophelia here, ruling sorcerer of Tabatha Town. I write the weekly newspaper, The Tabatha Tribune, for the town from my home, the Bell and Paper Library. It's a newspaper only for the Tabatha realm. Recently the Tinklepinks, my furry flying PIs who live in Tangerine Woods behind my library, talked me into something I have never done before... sharing posts about our world with you on the Ordinary Side. My goal has always been for ordinaries and magical beings to live together as one and this seems a perfect way to initiate contact. Maybe one day the portal separating our sides will flow freely. For now, enjoy all the news from Tabatha Town, discover more about the letters sent to me from the Ordinary Side and learn how I came to rule this place from being a young girl in a West London high school.
From the front page of The Tabatha Tribune
The Tinklepinks have returned from their regular visit to the Ordinary Side with some unsettling news. There is a new man called Derek in charge of all the post offices across England, and Derek wants to save money by closing some of the post boxes – OUR post boxes. If these special post boxes are sealed off, ordinaries won’t be able to continue sending their letters of wishes and problems to Tabatha Town and I will no longer be able to reply to them with my magical wisdom and answers. A sudden loss of this important tradition will have devasting effects for them and the Ordinary Side. It also threatens the chance for Tabatha Town and the Ordinary Side to finally merge and live as one as I have always fought for.
For twenty years, I have seen to it that Tabatha Town and the Ordinary Side have lived shoulder to shoulder. We bring answers and infuse life into their society, without which they will perish and wither. Although we are separated by the Blue Veil, I am confident that one day soon the Ordinary Side would be ready to live as one with magic – and us – and not at an unseen distance. Whether ordinaries realise it or not, they need magic in their lives. We need to be able to channel our magic too, otherwise, our collective power, with nowhere for it to be used for good, could potentially implode Tabatha Town.
Throughout these years, children of all ages and grown-ups from the Ordinary Side have posted letters to me via the sunken post boxes on street walls. These letters detail their wishes, dreams and problems. Each sunrise dedicated post sorcerers remove new letters asking for help and leave my replies to be reposted back to the sender. I have replied to every letter sent to me since I became ruling sorcerer if they included a return address.
This week when the Tinklepinks returned from their visit and tinkled out the weeks’ information they had gathered onto their wings, I couldn’t believe what I was translating. The former lady in charge of all the post offices has retired, and Derek is the new replacement. He doesn’t believe in Tabatha Town and thinks the letters and our existence are nonsense, an old myth meant to distract the people from their work and studies whilst giving them false hope. He’s also a miser, ‘runs a tight ship’ apparently, and cutbacks need to be made as they don’t have enough money. He has indicated our post boxes are the first in line to go, as sealing our boxes off saves time for the postal staff and, therefore, money.
This disaster is meant to begin in two months’ time.
I am monitoring this situation with urgency and full seriousness.
Measures put in place as of today:
· The Tinklepinks will make 2-3 visits a week (not one) to gather more information quickly.
· The Postal sorcerers will count the letters sent to ensure numbers are not dwindling due to hype on the Ordinary Side.
· I have not ruled out making a personal visit to the Ordinary Side, should there be no other option.
