Annaliese supports the Australian veterinary nursing profession
Annaliese Morgan DipAVN (Surgical) RVN MBVNA has worked in the veterinary profession for 19 years, qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse back in 1997. Since then Annaliese has gained the well regarded advanced surgical diploma and other qualifications to boot and is now rated within the top 250 vet nurses in the UK. After spending 15 years in small and mixed animal practice (which included senior management positions, the practice, as well as all the clinical and schedule III surgical work), Annaliese opened her own business in July 2008, Fuchsia Pet Health Spa. In a luxury environment, Fuchsia combines high standard preventative healthcare and grooming, along with education and exceptional client care. The BVNA awarded her the VN Times Award in October 2008 for her continued work within veterinary nursing, and was Vet Nurse of the Year nominee. Fuchsia was created from scratch from an idea she had whilst on maternity leave,Fuchsia pet health spa after just 3.5 years is now expanding to a second branch.
She is also a writer published both in the UK and Australia– her publications include a range of articles as well as four well known veterinary nursing text books, including ‘How to get through NVQ2 for Veterinary Nurses’ and ‘How to get through NVQ3 for Veterinary Nurses’. Her most recent book, ‘Desperate Housepets, A Guide to Healthy Pets’, is aimed at pet owners and gives an entertaining approach to a high standard of pet care. Her popular blog finds her discussing her own personal feelings and lessons learnt along the way.
She speaks to vet nurses both here in the UK and in Australia and is also an inspirational speaker. After been told she would never make it as a veterinary nurse, learning to walk again following an horrific accident and doing all what she does as a single mother with two boys. The concept of something cannot be done or changed is just not in Annaliese’s vocabulary!
Volunteering her time as a mentor for the YES Network (Young Entrepreneurs Society) for the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce enables her to help and encourage others.
“Annaliese is a mentor for the YES Network and does a great job inspiring, motivating, advising and encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs. Annaliese’s positivity is infectious and she is a pleasure to work and do business with. Having achieved so much at a young age including writing books, being a single mum to two boys and running a fast growing business she is a role model to anyone; particularly women. I couldn’t recommend Annaliese’s work more, she is one of the most honest, trustworthy and professional people I have ever met.”
